Opera Plus!
2008 Season

February-March: “Opera-tunities”-- Opera Plus! singers take opera to District 271 & 273 third graders!

April 5: “Opera Plus! Studies”-- An educational session for opera lovers and people interested in learning more about opera.. North Idaho College. 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. $25 per person.

April 27: “Opera Gala”— A fabulous evening of Opera Cabaret. Coeur d’Alene Resort. Money raised supports Opera Plus! programs and educational outreach. $110 per person.

May: “Opera-tunities”— Opera Plus! singers take opera to the Coeur d’Alene Indian Tribal School in Worley.

June 13: “OperaPlus! in the Plaza”— A FREE concert in the Resort Plaza Courtyard, as a part of downtown “Art Walk.” 6:00 p.m.

July 20: “Opera Cruise on the Lake”— A sunset cruise on Lake Coeur d’Alene with opera arias and ensembles and show tunes. Reserved table seating, $42; general seating, $32. Boat loads at 6:00 p.m. and sets sail at 6:30 p.m.

September: “Opera Matters!”— Workshops and Educational Outreach for Secondary and Post-Secondary Teachers. Includes lectures, CDs, teaching materials geared toward the fall opera production. Opportunities for attending live rehearsal and interview time with principal singers.

September 20: “Opera Plus! Studies”— An in depth examination of the Opera Plus! fall opera production, with Fred Glienna. 9 am -12 noon, Todd Lecture Hall, in the North Idaho College library. $25 per person.

September 26 & 28:— A fully-staged opera production of Giuseppe Verdi’s “La Traviata”, with orchestra and projected English translations. Tickets through NIC Box Office after August 1.

October 10: “OperaPlus! in the Plaza”— A FREE concert in the Resort Plaza Courtyard, as part of the city-wide “Art from the Heart,” celebrating the visual and performing arts. 6:00 p.m.
