Madam Butterfly
(Madama Butterfly)
September 29th & 30th 2007

This beautiful Puccini opera, containing some
of the loveliest romantic music ever written, was presented in Schuler
Auditorium on the North Idaho College (NIC) Campus on Saturday, September
29th (7:30 pm) and on Sunday afternoon September 30th (2:00 pm).
Orchestral accompaniment was provided by
the Coeur d'Alene Chamber Orchestra conducted by David Demand. Director was
Todd Robinson.
Audiences were invited to enjoy a free lecture
by Fred Glienna about Puccini and "Madam Butterfly" an hour prior to each
curtain.

her geisha attendants to meet Pinkerton for their wedding.

Butterfly (Christina Major) wakes her child (Susanna Mendez)
in preparation to meet her father, Lt. Pinkerton who is
returning after three years. In the background, Suzuki (Blythe
Gaissert) opens up the house for the day.
